Day 196 The Whitney Series 6

Here is a picture I took soon after we reached the Summit on Mt. Whitney (14,508' above sea level). The lakes that you can see are Iceberg Lake and Upper Boy Scout Lake (those are at 12,700'). Tomorrow's picture will be the last of the Whitney Series.

Day 195 The Whitney Series 5

This is Guitar Lake. It sits just east of Hitchcock lakes from Day 194. This one was taken at around 9:45 a.m before we attacked the rest of the trail.

Day 194 The Whitney Series 4

This was taken at Trail Crest (approximately 13,700 feet above sea level). We made Trail Crest around 9:30 a.m. The main feature is Hitchcock Mountain and Hitchcock lakes in the foreground. When we made Trail Crest, I KNEW achieving summit was going to be a piece of cake. I was right.

Day 193 The Whitney Series 3

This was made just below Consultation Lake on the Mt. Whitney hike just after 6:00 a.m. The orange/brown color at sunrise is called "Alpenglow".

Day 192 The Whitney Series 2

This picture was made just as the sun peeked over the mountains. I kind of liked the lens flare, so I didn't scrub it out on Photoshop. This was at approximately 12,000 feet at about 6:00 a.m. just below Consultation Lake.

Day 191 The Whitney Series 1
