Day 136 Rainbow Falls

Yeah, I know. No picture today. Still, this is a nice one of Rainbow falls that I took about 6 years ago when I was still using a point and shoot. It goes to show you that the scenery, not the equipment, makes the photo.

Day 135 Big Bear Lake Sunset

Another one I took on Sunday. This is (obviously) facing towards the Western end of Big Bear lake. This one came right out of the camera like this (with a bit of cropping to eliminate a smudge on the lens filter).

Day 134 Snow Summit at Night

I took this one on Sunday Night and boy, was it getting cold! I waited until the lights looked great in the reflection in the water.

             f/29; ISO 100; 25 sec. exposure; 36mm focal length

Day 133 Rescue Dog

We went into the Village on Saturday Night to have a look around and window shop. There were many really cool dogs walking about and hanging around. This one here was easily the most interesting. He is a Search and Rescue dog and his handler said the dog wore these yellow goggles to protect his retinas. When dogs are out in the snow on sunny days, they can burn their retinas in a few years and go blind. He said he trained this dog to wear the goggles while he was a pup and now the dog is accustomed to them.

           f/4.5; ISO 100; 1/40 sec. exposure; 35mm focal length

Day 132

This was actually taken on Sunday, but since I was away from the computer, I was able to fudge the dates a bit. This stump is on the shore of Big Bear Lake.

Day 126 West Street Basin

This is a flood control basin near our house. When A.J. was younger, he and his friends would go fishing there because there was a man who used to stock the lake with Catfish. He loved going there, but the County eventually shut it down. Oh well.

Day 124 Geese

These are some geese at the park here in Garden Grove. They are always hanging around near the pond waiting for people to feed to them some bread or seeds. Sometimes they block traffic, too. This day they were just cruising around and thought that maybe I had some food for them. Nope, not today.

I took this one the other day, but I liked it a lot. I did not post it on Facebook, but I liked the way you can see the concentration in the surfer's face and the shape of the wave he's riding.

Day 121 Sunset at Huntington Beach

I went to Huntington Beach a couple times today to see if I could get a few good shots. This is by no means the best one, but I liked it just the same. Brian was with me at sunset so I think he got some good ones, too.
