Our street is known for its 4th of July block parties. We normally have tons of people show up for a gigantic barbecue/potluck. While that is an important part of the festivities, the big event is normally the annual parade. This year, we even had a marching band organized by Dorinda Browning.
We had many people playing instruments like tambourines , drums and cymbals.
Of course we also had the kids getting into the act. No parade is complete without decorated bikes, scooters and ATV's
The kids were very excited to be in the parade and made sure we knew which direction to head for the start of the parade.
Of course, my honey was there, getting the final instructions.
Then there was Verity with a red sparkle for the camera
The parade began at the northern end of the street with the marching band, bicycles, scooter, quads and anyone else who just wanted to walk along with the parade.
The parade was so fun that when it reached the end of the street, they all decided to do it one more time!
After the parade ran its route, it was time to barbecue! Another successful Glen St. 4th of July block party! At dusk, the fireworks display would take place and the day would be complete!
